As my grandmother used to say, If it sounds too good to be true it is! In our many years of business we have seen many sorts of tricks and gimmicks in the water industry. Below are some very basic things to watch out for! Please contact us if you have any additional suggestions.
What to Avoid:
What to Ask:
What's the deal about this "Easy" system they keep advertising on television?
This is a very good question that we hear a lot. These "miracle" devices have been out for many years. They make very general claims but really have no creditable research to back the claims up. They supposedly "change" the water by wrapping wires/magnets/moon rocks/etc. around the incoming pipe of your home and it's supposed to "miraculously" change the water contained inside the pipes. We have tested many water samples where people have these "miracle" devices and the same thing is always true; the water is always the same whether the devices are on or off.
We actually had a customer who disconnected his water conditioner when his wife went out of town and installed one of these "miracle" devices to see if they really did work. Upon returning his wife called us to report a problem with their water conditioner; spots were all over the glassware and shower doors and the water just didn't feel right anymore. Once she found out what had really happened she had the water conditioner re-installed and her water is back to normal. The only "Easy" part of this whole situation is when they unplugged the miracle device. This couple is still fighting to get their $849.00 back from the company that promises "100% Money Back Guarantee". If it sounds too good to be true it normally is.

What about this water machine someone is trying to sell me that "cures" everything from acne to cancer?
Most of these devices are sold through multi-level marketing schemes. Most of these machines are being called the fountain of youth. People have been looking for the fountain of youth since the beginning of time and they still have not found it. We've heard all kind of claims from people trying to sell this snake oil. Anything that makes outlandish health claims stay away from; or better yet run from them! Use common sense and do your own independent research.
And now for the most asked question I get:
What's the difference between you and the other company?
EVERYTHING!

What to Avoid:
- Companies that insist on coming into your home to do a 3 hour presentation
- Companies that come out and quote you one price and then start heavily discounting the price. Do you really want to do business with a company that tries to cheat you from the beginning?
- Be very cautious with any company that has went through multiple name changes; there is most likely a reason why they're using different names...
- Anyone that tests your water on-site and tells you that your water contains bacteria. Bacteria tests take at least 24 hours of incubation time.
- Deals or specials that are only available for the next "30 minutes" or "Today Only"
- Off the shelf, one size fits all water filters/softeners - If these worked would we be in business?
- Internet based companies or companies that don't service what they sell - Who will service the equipment when it breaks? What happens when it doesn't work for your type of water?
- "Miracle/Easy" filters or "free soap for life" to offset the cost of the equipment
- Anyone that uses outlandish health claims
- Pushy salespeople
What to Ask:
- How much will this system cost me to operate?
- How often should the system be serviced?
- Anyone can sell water filtration systems in GA, always check certifications at www.wqa.org
- Always ask how long have they been in business and always double check with the secretary of state's office to verify their information. Some companies that claim 20, 30 and even 40 years in business have only been incorporated for a few years. Always be suspicious if a company has name changes, normally there is a reason...
- Always verify the systems they sell are NSF or WQA approved; www.nsf.org or www.wqa.org
